PHOTO REPORT: Magic Kingdom 1/17/17 (New Merchandise, New Food, Refurbishments, Etc.)

Our latest photo report brings us to the Magic Kingdom for new merchandise, new alcohol, and much more.

Happy 2017

In case you missed it, 2017 merchandise is now available everywhere around the resort.

Some new vintage-style Walt Disney World shirts have started to appear.

This and That

A number of locations are removing the “hanging” vertical napkin holders and replacing them with these.

Yes, I ate at Pecos Bill’s again.

And now, a few pics from Once Upon a Time.

Casey’s Corner is now offering a hot dog of the month,. The first one is a macaroni and cheese dog.

This new Mr. Potato Head mug is now for sale, depicting him how he once appeared in Toy Story Midway Mania at Hollywood Studios.

He will return when Toy Story Land opens in 2018, this time located at the entrance of the attraction.

A really neat idea, Walt Disney World is now selling postcard coloring books.

There are also two additional versions, one with Princesses and one with PIXAR characters.

They retail at $9.99 each.

The new ferryboat sign finally arrived at the Magic Kingdom boat dock.

Refurbishments, Refurbishments, Refurbishments…

The Walt Disney World Railroad is closed for refurbishment currently.

The exterior of the Emporium is also under refurbishment.

The City Hall restrooms are closed again.

Disney Dine on the Go

Disney Dine-On-The-Go is now on sale at the Magic Kingdom during its test period.

Here’s what the certificates look like if you should buy it.

Mousecellaneous

A new purchase-with-purchase tote bag is available at select merchandise locations.

More new clothing for sale at the Emporium.

This logo is available on a wide variety of shirts, ranging from hoodies to ringer tees.

We stopped bay Skipper Canteen to get a look at their drink menu, now including alcohol.

A new, limited edition Figment pin for sale this week.

The waffle fries are now gone from Golden Oak Outpost. Why does this place even exist anymore?

Pecos Bill’s added a beef nachos meal for kids, a pretty decent value with the nearby fixings bar.

Despite being back from refurbishment, the geysers at the exit of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad are now being worked on.

Here si the drink menu for Liberty Tree Tavern.

The alcohol menu at Tony’s Town Square Cafe.

The crane is back behind Cinderella Castle for the removal of the holiday lights.

The drink menu at Cinderella’s Royal Table includes a $320 bottle of champagne…

Signage at the Storybook Circus train station informing guests of the closure.

Construction continues on what we assume will be the Magic Kingdom Joffrey’s kiosk in Tomorrowland.

I’m not a big Tsum Tsum fan, but this Taun Taun with little Tsum Tsum in it is adorable!

“And I thought they smelled bad on the outside…”

This “Be Our Guest Restaurant” mug is available only at the hub churro cart for some reason, but it’s pretty neat.

Cosmic Ray’s has altered their “single menu” for hours when they remove the individual bays with individual menus.

It’s even a little shorter than it was before.

  1. Any idea what happens with Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom when the portal is in an area under refurbishment? (i.e. Emporium, behind the castle) Is the game smart enough to not try to send players to them?

  2. I really hope they add Tangled onto the nighttime show, or i want it gone and bring back CTM, i didn’t get the see it, because some idiotic move of NOT playing it during my last trip there, i really hope it happens.

  3. My guess with the souvenir mug is that they are running low. I got mine back in October on eBay. I didn’t see it when I was there in December. It is a great mug though.

  4. I love it when corporations go “healthy”. It’s a Giant Hot Dog WITH Macaroni & Cheese AND Bacon on it.
The only sides should be fries or fries with BACON on them!
Thanks for the update, now I’m hungry. I hope they still have that when I go in May. LOL

  5. $320 for Dom Perignon… Jesus.

And Skipper’s beer selection makes no sense at all.

Regardless, I’m actually excited for the beer selection. Soda’s are expensive enough as it is, a beer or two to get through a day at MK is a welcomed addition for me.
