Will there be a weight limit for the banshee ride?
I would think there would be as a safey precaution, but as of right now that information has not been realeased. Maybe sometime in the near future they might have that, otherwise we may not know until the ride itself opens up. We will let you know when we have more info.
When will you be able to make fastpasses for these rides?
As of right now we do not yet have any more info in regards to when Fast pass+ reservations can be made. As soon as more info is released, we will announce it to you guys as soon as possible.
What about tiers? Will this cause AK to become a two tier park like Epcot or DHS?
I am not sure in regards to what tier Animal Kingdom will be considered as once Pandora opens. It could potentially become a 2 tiered park but as I said I’m not sure.
Any idea on accessibility yet?
I’m not entirely sure in accessibility for Flight of Passage as it is considered more of a thrill ride, but I’m assuming that Navi River journey will be handicap accessible like most of the other boat rides at Disney. Even though they don’t say that now, they should have it and if they didn’t I’d be very surprised.
Considering that Avatar is about a guy in a wheelchair getting the opportunity to use an avatar to walk again, I would sure hope it would be as accessible as possible.
That’s the best thing I’ve read on the Internet in a while!
Do you know what the banshee ride vehicle is like? Is it a seat like Soarin’, like a carousel horse or something else?
Linda, go here to see a small picture of what the ride vehicle is. Tom wrote this awhile back. The image isn’t the best because the image was leaked but you can make out the shape of it. http://wdwnt.com/blog/2017/02/breaking-leaked-image-reveals-ride-vehicle-avatar-flying-banshee-attraction-disneys-animal-kingdom/
Agreed!
They better have stationary seating or We and our entire group ( a few in wheelchairs who have been waiting for this ride since the movie is ABOUT A MAN IN A WHEELCHAIR!)will be staying at Disney since we are all DVC members and going to Universal parks! Disney knows how to make seating accessable and THEY JUST CHOSE NOT TO?? Just like the new frozen ride! ( really not accessable at all unless you want to break your back using the 12 by 6″ transfer board they give you to get in this very narrow seat with no room for others to assist you.) Shame on you Disney.???? very disappointed
Hi Ben,
Is the banshee ride considered a thrill? I suffer from motion sickness, although I can handle Soarin’ 100% fine. I’m hoping it’s a ride similar to Soarin’.
The ride is supposed to have a lot more physical motion then Soarin’.
Yes, unfortunately Flight of Passage would be considered a “thrill ride.” I’m sorry for your suffering of motion sickness. The ride is like soarin in a sense as it brings you up towards the ceiling a bit as in soaring, but yes you do move around a lot more on Flight of Passage. You will be having the sensation of flying atop a banshee so one would assume you are going to “swoop” and “soar” on the vehicle. They have said they are trying to make it as immersive as possible where you can even feel the banshee “breathe.” I have no idea if they will have a stationary seating banshee for guest with motion sickness. If they don’t have one, I’m sry for you that you won’t be able to experience it :(
Have they said when fastpasses will be available for these rides prior to opening weekend?
No. Disney has not given any information out on whether or no there will be fast passes available prior to opening weekend, nor are there any leaks at this time to say if there would be. As soon as we would have fast pass info, we will share it with you guys.
FastPasses are now available for opening day on the two new Avatar rides. Just scheduled mine! Can’t wait, only 57 more days!
will the boat ride be wheelchair accessible.
Have you received any update in regards to the weight limit?? My husband is a tall, good-sized guy. I would like to know due to fast pass request just to find out he would not be able to ride if there are restrictions.
Thanks in advance for the information.
Is there a weight limit for the new rides and attraction at Pandora avatar???
