Animal Kingdom Retires Popular Jungle Juice Slushy

On a hot day in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, nothing was much better than grabbing a Jungle Juice Slushy from the Mahindi stand in Africa. Well, guests no longer have that option…

Despite signage remaining for the purchase of the drink with a souvenir cup, the drink is removed from the main menu and is no longer available. Mahindi now only sells fountain beverages for drink options.

The Jungle Juice Slushy was a frozen version of the popular beverage served at many locations, most famously at Boma and Tusker House. The drink contains orange juice, passion fruit juice, and guava juice.

  1. Jungle Juice is POG juice (Passion Fruit, Orange & Guava) as Tom said. If you’re interested in making it at home, the recipe is: 2 parts Passion Fruit Juice, 1 part Orange Juice, 2 parts Guava Juice. Enjoy!

  2. I would love a breakdown of why things like this are removed? Same with the cheeseburger eggroll and the jalapeno cheese pretzel. Why?

  3. Aw, that drink was really good. Is the regular version (non-slushy) available anywhere in the park(s) besides Boma and Tusker House? It’s probably also a bit like the juice served at the ‘Ohana breakfast. I don’t remember getting a slushy version at AK, actually, but I have the musical tumbler in my growing Disney Cup display at home.

  4. I knew that you could order it without the musical tumbler for only about 5 bucks! Not on the menu that way, but a great way to enjoy the during our last visit. Bummed, but I’ll now look for something else!
