PHOTOS: First Look at Amazing New Lighting Effects for Happily Ever After, Magic Kingdom’s Upcoming Fireworks Spectacular

Last night, many of the new effects and pyro for Happily Ever After at the Magic Kingdom were tested out for the very first time and were visible to guests around the Magic Kingdom resort area. If these photos are any indication, we are in for an amazing new nighttime spectacular…

These photos show a lighting test, which at first looks similar to what we see in Once Upon a Time, but just wait until you see how they have amplified the effect…

Mind you, these photos were taken from far outside of the park. Pretty amazing, huh?

If you look closely at Cinderella Castle, you may even spot some stars created by lasers being projected onto the face of the classic icon.

  1. I can see the fireworks at my home, and last night at 2:00am is then they did it. What I noticed was it was a more “colorful” fireworks with new shapes like spirals, happy faces, and others that were different from wishes. It was also a non stop fireworks barrage with about a 30 second pause before the finally.

I was much too far away to see the lights but i could see them shining in the smoke at the end. With what you are saying above, what i saw, and the video mapping of the castle we have seen just before the wishes show, this promises to be an incredible show that I can’t wait for.

  2. Seems like the same searchlight patterns and effects created for “Disneyland Forever” for Disneyland’s Diamond Celebration and which are now used in “Remember… Dreams Come True.” Although there seems to be about twice as many searchlights installed for “Happily Ever After.”

  3. Come on disney is getting cheap and stingy they would much rather use lights, and lazers over buying fire works i thought disney had a 100 yr commitment to buying and using GRUCCI fireworks as,back then when WDW,WAS BUILT the syndicate aka MOB was the concrete suppliers and fireworks at night thery just renegging go back to the old ways, use the darn fire works not stupid lazer lights this is not a PNK FLOYD SHOW

  4. We saw the test for this show at night while staying at Grand Floridian Resort, and it was NOT many fireworks, mostly lasers and projections on the castle. This is obviously a cost savings measure over Wishes.

  5. Boooring.. just Disney cheaping out with less fireworks like every ither changed nighttime show
