Just a few months ago, Disney finally announced their massive expansion plans for Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, including a 15-story tower. We decided to head back to Coronado again a few days ago to see the latest progress on the work. Here is our third video update on the project showing the progress on the 15-story tower and other resort enhancements:
Entering the resort is still a bit of a war zone, even across the street from the resort where work is taking place.
The old bus stop is now closed, as is the sidewalk in this area.
Concept art adorns the construction walls around the old bus stop.
Meanwhile, they are painting the arrival area (now also the bus stop while construction is going on).
There a lot of different colors happening right now on the columns underneath, it’s unclear just what direction they are heading in with the color scheme.
The old bus stop behind fences.
A closer look at the concept art here, which gives a better idea of exactly where the tower is in relation to everything else.
Work in the marina has begin on what may be the new walkways over the water to better connect all of the resort.
A look over the fences at the former bus stop area.
Now we look at the future home of the 15-story-tower for Coronado Springs.
Temporary signage points guests to the new temporary bus stop.
Added signage in the lobby as well.
Best wishes to those staying at this resort right now in the midst of all of these changes…
The new tower and other enhancements at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort are slated to be completed in Summer 2019.
We just returned from a stay at Coronado Springs and we barely noticed the renovation work. We used the buses which picked us up near our room and went directly to the parks. Don’t let the construction work scare you away. Great resort!
Stayed last week in Casitas 4. Would hardly know that work was being undertaken. No issues whatsoever.
My family and myself have reservations to stay at the hotel the end of September. Will the construction have a negative impact on our stay?
We are staying here in August. Where are the best areas to be in order to avoid the construction noise?
We stayed for a week and a half in middle of May and room was in Cabanas 8a 2nd floor. Never heard any noise or was bothered at all by construction. Also they are under going room updates and was right next to building that they were working on and never were disturbed by any noise or equipment. They did not start working until at least after 8am with any equipment and workers were all polite.
Has anyone seen any more in-depth concept art anywhere else? This is our favorite resort and I LOVE that they are adding a tower as I’ve never been a fan of the motel-style most value/moderate resorts use.
