Beginning September 6th, Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be undergoing a refurbishment.
Now don’t worry, nothing is being removed. During this time, the entire lake will be drained and repainted. Dinosaur Gertie and Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner will also be repainted and adjustments in the landscaping around the area will be made. This work will continue through October 2017.
During the painting, with Min and Bill’s and Dinosaur Gertie will continue to operate as normal.
I know we all joke about this, but will there be anything to do at this park later in the year??
The ticket booth will remain opened and uninterrupted.
Soon to be announced, a $249 per person “Hollywood Studios Construction Tour” where you’ll go “behind the walls” to see how things are painted, varnished, touched up and refurbed. Will be an 8-hour tour that ends with a front row seat on the parking lot tram.

I don’t think there is a park or a resort on Disney property that isn’t under some kind of refurb. Is this a mad dash to get everything new and shiny for the 50th ? It just seems like it is happening all at once!
I just ordered a Mickey ears hard hat for my next trip.
