REVIEW: “Refreshment Outpost” Food Studio – Epcot International Festival of the Arts 2018

Welcome to a food studio review for the Epcot International Festival of the Arts, taking place in the park all week long from January 12th to February 19th, 2018. This review will cover the festival-exclusive item at the Refreshment Outpost.

Refreshment Outpost

Within the past few weeks the name and theme of the Refreshment COOLPost was changed to the Refreshment Outpost. They added in a bunch of new instruments and spruced up the paint job, it’s simple yet effective work that was sorely needed.

The Refreshment Outpost has a single unique item for the festival, and it’s quite good.

Chilled Shrimp, Quinoa, Layered Vegetables, Spiced Yogurt and Red Pepper Coulis – $5.99

Don’t let the ingredient list veer you away, this chilled shrimp is a stand-out of the festival. If you were going to get one seafood dish, we recommend this be the one. It’s amazing in all the right ways: The shrimp is fresh and not gummy, the yogurt mixed with the quinoa and vegetables all combines well to make a really flavorful and refreshing dish. Pick yourself up a Brown Elephant as well, it’s a great way to enjoy an adult version of the classic Frozen Coke.
