Sunday, March 4th, was the last show of Star Wars: Path of the Jedi in the Discoveryland Theatre in Disneyland Paris. From Monday, guests could no longer experience this 10-minute synopsis of the first seven Star Wars films.
Since 1992, the theater’s opening year, the Discoveryland Theatre showed 3D film Captain EO with Michael Jackson, 4D film Honey, I Shrunk the Audience and trailers for Disney films or short movies as during the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival. Since May 2017, the theatre was used to give the audience a short introduction to the Star Wars universe, with its location next to the rides Hyperspace Mountain and Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.
The closing down of the Discoveryland Theatre comes at a remarkable moment. Following the refurbishment dates, the doors were expected to close in April, and there is a still a few weeks left of the Star Wars-Season of the Force.
The Discoveryland Theatre is expected to open again this fall with a new experience. Does this early closing mean that we can expect a lot of this new use of the theatre? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
Hope the one at Hollywood Studios will close soon, because we don’t need Path of the Jedi at DHS!
And why is that?
Agree, close it and do a Tangled Show in there.
