During our trip to the Disneyland Resort for the California Adventure Food and Wine Festival, we did manage to find some time to take a trip down the Rivers of America to see the latest progress on Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park.
The highest peaks of Batuu hide behind the new riverbanks of the Rivers of America in Frontierland. The idea is this will seamlessly blend into the backdrop despite being an entirely different planet.
I’m not sure that there were many giant dead logs at the top of a mountain in the U.S. though…
To the left is the top of the building that houses the Battle Escape attraction, to the right is the home of the Millennium Falcon ride.
A lot of the rock work still isn’t in place, but the Disneyland project is still months ahead of Walt Disney World.
It’s like Cars Land, but in space.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2019. A smaller version of the land will open at Walt Disney Studios Paris at some point later.

I think it was always the plan to open Disneyland first.. so not too surprising. As a WDW local, I definitely prefer WDW opening first to avoid the spoilers though :-)
