A brand new stage show based on The Lion King is coming to Disneyland Paris next year. The new musical show will open in the newly renovated Chaparral Theatre in Frontierland of Disneyland Park, which is currently being completely rebuilt, sometime in 2019. “Favored characters such as Simba, Nala, Timon and Pumbaa, along with the iconic songs and the classic story from the film, will come to life onstage,” according to Disneyland Paris corporate news.
The Lion King already has a presence in Disneyland Paris with a segment in Mickey and the Magician show in Walt Disney Studios Park, a float in Disney Stars on Parade and a sequence in the nighttime spectacular Disney Illuminations featuring Can You Feel The Love Tonight? and Circle of Life. The Legend of the Lion King previously played at the Videopolis Theatre in Discoveryland until it ended in 2009.
