Starbucks Locations at Walt Disney World to Close Today for Company-Wide Training Session

As you may have heard, Starbucks will close around 8,000 of its stores across the country on Tuesday for sessions to educate staffers on unconscious bias and racism. The closure follows the arrests of two African-American men in a Philadelphia Starbucks. The men were arrested after a manager called police on them for trespassing while they waited on a friend to join them to order. A letter from the coffee chain’s CEO Howard Schultz stated that the stores would close “for several hours” and that approximately 175,000 Starbucks employees would be involved in the training.

The closure will also involve the 6 Starbucks locations that operate at the Walt Disney World Resort. Stores at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs will be shuttered today from 3pm to 7pm.

  1. I get that the nationwide store closing/training is really about the Starbucks corporation trying to make a statement, but I don’t really think Disney World Starbucks locations are the issue here… lol

  2. Same thing that Hollywood Studios is doing but they are taking years to do it
