Updates Coming to Walt Disney World’s Lost & Found Process

Walt DIsney World is rolling out a new way for guests to report and track lost items this May. Starting on May 21st, the website Walt Disney World Lost & Found will be available for use in reporting, tracking, and eventually receiving lost items.

After an item is lost, you will be able to report it on this website while continuing on your day in the park. As cast members look for the item, you will receive periodic updates keeping you in the loop until you are eventually reunited with your lost item. Cast in the parks are being trained on this new technology and process now for the rollout in a few weeks, including being encouraged to turn-in lost items quicker than in previous times.

  1. This is a first step to reduce, and eventually eliminate Guest Relations Cast Members at WDW parks. For now, they will enter information, but computer stations coming which will complete this, and all of their tasks. Disney knows they can give a few free tickets and save on the labor for guest related issues that people can tackle from a touchscreen, and the prime real estate that houses current guest relations could be used for a money generating venture. With so many people they’re trying to get IN the parks, they can skip several of them being ‘satisfied’ ,further eliminates the role and need for streamlined lost and found.
