VIDEO: Marvel Comes to Epcot in Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! Rock Concert

The concept of a show with an alien band playing at the America Gardens Theater at Epcot may be pretty strange, but it’s actually one of the better acts to fill the Summer months at the outdoor venue of the American Adventure in World Showcase. Debuting today, the new show features Star Lord and Gamora of Guardians of the Galaxy brokering a deal with Nova Prime and the Xandarian government to bring an outreach program to Peter Quill’s home planet. The purpose? To share Xandar’s rich heritage and culture with Earth’s people. As you would expect from current Epcot, we instead get a bunch of American hits featured in Vol. 1 and 2 of the film series.

The show is solid, featuring the terrible dialogue we’ve come to expect from recent Walt Disney World entertainment offerings, but the talent of the band shines through all of the painful one-liners, aided by some rock concert-style effects on the stage. It’s at least worth a view if you’re going to be at Epcot this Summer, maybe a few viewings if you’re like me and love this particular set list.

Showtimes for Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live are at 1:30, 2:30, 5:30, 6:45 and 8:00 daily through August 19th, 2018.
