Another stop on the grand churro tour at the Disneyland Resort during Halloween Time will lead you to Tomorrowland and the Sour Apple Churro. This is the strangest looking churro you might ever eat, and it certainly draws a lot of looks from other guests who aren’t in the know of its existence.
In fact after purchasing the churro, we had multiple guests stop us asking us what it was and what it tasted like. It certainly draws attention.
Sour Apple Churro – $5.25 + $1.00 (Caramel Dipping Sauce)
You might not think ‘sour’ and neon green really translate well to a churro, but you might find yourself pleasantly surprised. A word to the wise though, this churro makes an absolute mess. The additional flavoring in the sugar seemed to make it extra sticky, plus if you add the caramel dipping sauce, you better hope you have immediate access to a restroom afterwards for hand-washing purposes.
Now on to the taste. The sour apple flavor is pretty strong in comparison to the other flavored churros you might find at the resort, but it translates really well to the baked snack. The dipping sauce is served warm, and has a great caramel taste that makes it an absolute must when purchasing this churro.
The team was split on this one. Some absolutely loved the taste, and others thought it to be too much of a sugar rush. At $6.25 for the combo (churro and sauce), this is not the cheapest snack. However if you are looking for something truly unique to try during Disneyland’s Halloween Time, then look no further than the Sour Apple Churro.
