Starting January 18th, 2019, Disneyland will be home to a new Projection and Fireworks Show called Mickey’s Mix Magic in honor of the corporate icon’s 90th birthday celebration.

Disney is describing the show as “the biggest dance party to ever come to Disneyland” and it will feature Mickey as he hosts a new experience featuring projections, exclusive music, lights, lasers, and fireworks (sometimes). The exclusive music will be electronic takes on favorite Disney songs. Projections will take place on Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street USA, “it’s a small world”, and the Rivers of America.

On weekends, the show will feature pyrotechnics, but during the week (Monday through Thursday) it will be a projection-only show.

The show sounds somewhat like the “We Love Mickey” projection spectacle that debuted at Hong Kong Disneyland earlier this year:

Disneyland has yet to announce the new show, but it is expected to do so around Mickey’s birthday on November 18th.

  • pretty loud and obnoxious and looses the wonderment and excitement of fireworks that have become synonymous with Disney

    • They had to do this, because the new Mickey ride going in toon town is going right where they shoot off the fireworks.

    • Your opinion “looses” credibility when you can’t spell correctly. That being said, just because it’s a type of music you don’t enjoy, doesn’t mean you’re right.

  • Hahaha I’m actually crying. Remember…Dreams Come True was my last grip on the magic of Wishes and this sounds terrible. It was my goal to go to Disneyland to see it and now I get this terrible show when my friends and I will finally have the money.
