Disney and Pixar have officially announced the name and release date of their newest original animated feature film.
“Onward” – the newest addition to Disney and Pixar’s joint filmography – is set to star Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Planes), and Octavia Spencer (The Help).
In a press release by Disney•Pixar, they describe the movie’s theme:
Set in a suburban fantasy world, Disney•Pixar’s “Onward” introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there.
The film was inspired by director Dan Scanlon’s personal relationship with his brother.
“Onward” will be released in theaters on March 6th, 2020, so make sure to keep an eye on WDWNT for more details over the next few months.
