The Wave Lounge

Top of the World Lounge To Be Used for Paid Disney Vacation Club Member Events, Future Unclear

Disney Vacation Club members now have access to an exclusive dining package at Disney’s Contemporary Resort that includes dinner at The Wave and reserved fireworks viewing at the Top Of The World Lounge. The package requires one DVC member and up to five additional guests per party. The cost is $59 per person, and includes a prix-fixe meal to enjoy before being escorted up to Top Of The World Lounge to enjoy the fireworks. During the show, complimentary beverages and dessert will be provided.

The Wave... of American Flavors

Dates for the package begin January 14, 2019 and run through June 30, 2019 (Blackouts apply on Valentine’s Day, Easter weekend, and Mother’s Day Weekend). No discounts or dining plans are accepted for this package.

Additionally, the future of Top Of The World lounge access for DVC members is still unclear. The official DVC website lists Top Of The World lounge access ending December 29, 2018.

UPDATE: Disney Vacation Club has stated that the Top of the World Lounge will remain available to members outside of this event, but a section will be blocked off to general members for this offering.

I’m really getting tired of WDW constantly finding new ways to unnecessarily make money. We are staying at BLT over July 4th specifically for access to the member lounge. Looks like we’ll need to pay a lot of money or find a new place to see the fireworks.

It looks like this only runs through June 30th, so you should be good for July 4, plus the lounge will continue to be open to members, just a space will be reserved for the people paying for this

This is crap, the lounge is one of the bright spots on our trips to Disney, you taking this away from people already owning property at Disney and spending more than a couple thousand on every trip is total crap.

Any word on what the prix-fixe meal will be?

That information has yet to be released (which is incredibly strange as it’s literally half of what you’re paying for)

As a dvc member and my home resort being bay lake I hope dvc members staying at bay lake can still enjoy “top of the world” lounge with no restrictions.
