The construction never stops at Hollywood Studios. They’ve still got a long way to go before the Fall of 2019, but they’re certainly making progress.

Skyliner and Parking Lot Work

The Skyliner station is coming along nicely, as is the bus complex nearby. The new restrooms (we now have confirmation of that below) also look to be near completion.

Pavement, trees, and lights can be seen around the Skyliner station. Looks like you’ll be able to walk over there soon…

The mystery building in restrooms, as we now know thanks to the signage on the building.

The space that used to be bus pickup/drop-off and the old tram loop is being completely redone. There’s quite a bit of dirt moving and prep for new concrete work going on over here. Apparently someone above is watching over the project with the same interest as us.

Inside the Park

The first thing I noticed as I entered the park was this sign for a new “complimentary personal shopper” service. You can read more about that in our post here.

There are a couple of new stands being constructed around the park. This one is over near the entrance to Toy Story Land. This is where the face painting kiosk used to be. Maybe they are moving back?

Interestingly enough, it looks like the Pixar Place theme will continue on.

We’ve been following construction on this one near Grand Avenue and Star Tours for a few weeks now. Scrims just recently went up around it. When the frame first went up we thought it might be a meet and greet area, but it’s looking more and more like a food stand. There was active construction going on during the day. I think they want this one finished quickly.

A food kiosk near the entrance of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge makes some sense, especially if you might be waiting hours to enter…

Just around the corner at Muppetvision 3D, I noticed they’ve been painting the show building to make it less visible from other parts of the park. The only real color on the building now faces Grand Avenue.

Over in Walt Disney Presents they have walls up where Starlord and Groot used to meet. Mike and Sulley from Monsters Inc. should be going in that spot sometime early next year.

There’s no preview for Mary Poppins Returns in the theater, but they did put up a few Mary Poppins related displays. There isn’t anything from the new film, but they do have this reproduction dress as well as a couple costumes from Saving Mr. Banks.

No major news on the Star Wars front, but the cranes were exceedingly busy today. Lots of pieces moving into place, even if we can’t see them yet.

The citizens of Hollywood were out on Sunset Blvd, as usual. Today these two ladies were driving around and composing Christmas cards for guests on a type writer. I love this kind of interaction.

If you’re a big fan of the “Flurry of Fun” projection show on the Hollywood Tower Hotel, I think this is the only piece of merchandise for it.

Back on Hollywood Blvd., the space that used to house hats and embroidery services is now just candy and such. But you’re in luck, they still will embroider your hats for you. The machine just isn’t visible to guests.
