Work on the Tron roller coaster has started to ramp up, with the Walt Disney World Railroad closing down today and the Tomorrowland Speedway due to shut down after the first of the year to make way for the new ride. Now, the pathway behind the Tomorrowland Speedway that runs from Tomorrowland to Storybook Circus has been completely closed as well.
Here is the closed off path from Tomorrowland:
Below is the view of the pathway from Storybook Circus:
There has been no announcement on exactly how long the Railroad and this pathway will be closed. We do know that the Tomorrowland Speedway will reopen in May of 2019. The Tron attraction, as it is designed right now, is expected to cross over the railroad tracks and the pathway, and Tomorrowland Speedway is expected to be rerouted as well.
We will keep you updated once we learn of reopening dates for both this path and the Railroad.
Wow I just walked this path last Wednesday, my favorite hidden quiet spot in all of Disneyworld
The railroad cast members were very emotional last night for the last ride. They were told to expect a closure for two years the time to build a bridge above the railroad to access Tron.
