It was a beautiful day out at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While we were out and about, we heard the squawks of a new bird in the park. Kevin, the lovable bird from Disney Pixar’s “Up” can now be found exploring Discovery Island.
She’s a wandering character, but she does stop occasionally to investigate her new surroundings. She’s beautiful, and if you’re lucky, you might just get a chance to pet her. You can catch her daily, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
We tried channeling our inner Adventurers and recorded this majestic creature in the wild:
The weather was gorgeous, so the park was pretty crowded. We noticed that even the single rider line had a posted wait time of 45 minutes for Expedition Everest. No, thanks.
Time to take a break from the crowds and enjoy a more peaceful view.
We stopped by the otter exhibit to try and catch a glimpse of the construction. Lots of activity going on behind the scenes.
Pandora is getting some maintenance. A section of the path was barricaded off. The water feature was turned off from the giant plant at the entrance to the land. It seems like they are repainting the area in small sections. I’m guessing we won’t be adding this to our maintenance report anytime soon.
Another beautiful view is ruined by a temporary food and beverage cart. I guess if you must get that boxed popcorn and bottled water before getting in line, this is a convenient location. But I think it detracts from the view.
This Valentine’s Day Cupcake can be found at Restaurantosaurus and Creature Comforts. It’s a chocolate cupcake with strawberry buttercream and then topped by a chocolate covered strawberry. If you don’t make it to Animal Kingdom in time for the Valentine’s Day cupcake, then you can still find the Lion King cupcake around the park.
Speaking of Valentine’s Day, the PhotoPass photographers have special signs you can take photos with.
We had a wild time at Animal Kingdom. Obviously, meeting Kevin was the highlight of our day. What do you think of the newest wandering character at Animal Kingdom?
