In anticipation of the Steamboat Willie Annual Passholder exclusive popcorn bucket release, we expected crowds on this Friday morning. There were definitely crowds.
Sleeping Beauty Castle continues to see more and more walls go up for the refurbishment.
What castle?
A few minutes before rope drop, there was this massive crowd unsure of where the popcorn line started. We decided to try our luck in Tomorrowland.
Cast members quickly organized this line. Everyone was in good spirits laughing about the fact we were waiting for yet another popcorn bucket release. We waited about 45 minutes as buckets were continually restocked.
I’m a fan of Disneyland popcorn, so I just want the $1 refill option. They did run out of buckets that evening and no official word on when or even if they will be restocked.
A few guests were complaining about scuff marks on their buckets. We also got our popcorn on the side to avoid trying to clean this behemoth.
I am loving the strap. It is adorable and makes carrying around your bucket a tad easier.
Popcorn buckets in hand, we were off to check out the rest of the park.
Astro Orbitor construction walls make Tomorrowland pathways even more narrow now.
Luckily, Space Mountain had reopened since the incident that took place.
Guests who had already gotten their popcorn bucket or had no interest in obtaining one seemed to be enjoying the Minnie’s Valentine’s Day Surprise Scavenger Hunt. This was a fun few hours we highly recommend.
Haven’t been on the train in awhile, so let’s head back to Main Street on the train.
The popcorn line was also long here, even several hours after park open.
Yes, that giant crowd is actually the line for the bucket.
Always fun to wave back at the line of people.
Anyone else miss the Disneyland runDisney races and running back here?
Spotted the fresh Mickey wrap on the red monorail.
Guests enjoying their trip to the Grand Canyon.
Dinosaurs!
Back to Main Street, U.S.A…
If you don’t want to do the scavenger hunt and just want the cards, you can head straight to the redemption table to pick out your cards. They still had plenty in stock, but continue to hint that they may run out.
In addition to all the delicious food out for the Get Your Ears On Celebration, the characters were also out en masse. All were in special celebration outfits.
Pluto had a fun collar.
Chip and Dale had festive vests.
Lastly, we finally found Donald. He was by far the most fun character and guests were having a hoot watching him show off.
I hope you enjoyed this quick trip around Disneyland Park. The construction is endless, but there are a lot of fun festivities to check out, including Mickey’s Soundsational Parade, Mickey’s Mix Magic Fireworks Spectacular, and the “Get Your Ears On” Celebration.
What’s your favorite current park offering? Let us know in the comments!
can we please get photo updates of all the refurbishments on property including world of color?
We just did that in our last report before this, and World of Color doesn’t really show any visible sings of work right now
We went Sunday a.m. AP Popcorn buckets were totally sold out! Wah.
The Disneyland AP twitter account said on Friday night that the buckets were sold out. You had no chance at one if you waited until Sunday to try to pick it up.
Those new Chip n Dale condom vests look pretty sharp, and they spead a good message, safety first kids
Those dinosaurs look like the ones from the Universe of Energy.
