It’s that magical time of year once again when the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival returns. Citrus Grove is back this year and we couldn’t wait to see if it was just as good as before.
Citrus Grove
Orange Chicken & Rice – $7.50
The orange chicken and rice was good, but the rice was crunchy and overcooked. The sauce and the chicken pair really well together. It isn’t too great when it’s been sitting for too long, though.
Citrus-brined Pork Roast with Tangy Barbeque Sauce and Lemon Pepper Slaw – $8.00
The pork roast is great! It has lots of sauce, but surprisingly, it isn’t too much. Even people who aren’t a fan of cole slaw will like this. It has a bit of a kick, but it isn’t spicy. Tons of pork, and great citrus flavor.
Meyer Lemon Blue Diamond Almond Macaron – $5.50
We were “berry” surprised to find a center of berry preserves inside this cookie. The macaron itself isn’t super lemon flavored. It’s filled with a very sweet, lightly lemony buttercream. (We’d still get a raspberry rose macaron at Jolly Holiday over this one, though.)
Ginger Beer (non-alcoholic) – $6.00
Meyer Lemon Ginger Mule with Lemon Garnish – $13.50
The ginger mule was light and refreshing, not overly gingery or lemony. We loved this and would definitely get it again.
