There’s another new character-themed cupcake in the Intermission Food Court at the Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. Just in time for Sleeping Beauty’s 60th anniversary, this Princess Aurora Cupcake is right out of a dream.
Make it pink! Make it blue! This stunning cupcake looks like something Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather would have decorated. It’s a dessert worthy of a princess. The buttercream icing is a bright pink and blue swirled together. One side of the cupcake is lined with blue sprinkles and the other side has pink. It’s all topped off by a white chocolate crown sprinkled with edible gold glitter.
When I cut into the cupcake, I expect some sort of filling. It’s just more buttercream piped into the center. Not even a different color or flavor of buttercream. This frosting is supposed to be cotton candy flavored, but it had no standout flavor. I would have said it was a vanilla cake with vanilla icing if the description didn’t say cotton candy frosting. The flavor was just not strong enough to be noticeable.
This Sleeping Beauty cupcake might put you to sleep, too. It’s pretty boring. The inside just doesn’t wow me as much as the outside. The middle looks like like a gender reveal cupcake gone wrong. It’s just a lot of pink and blue frosting everywhere. There needs to be something else in the center to balance out the sugary frosting. It’s just not possible to eat that much buttercream. This is a beautiful cupcake, but it’s just too sweet.
There have been a lot of specialty cupcakes around the park and resorts lately, including this fun Simba cupcake and a limited edition cupcake just for 2319 Day. Do you have a favorite?
