We’re back at Epcot again for a park tour on another overcast, chilly (for Florida’s standards, at least) day!
Wandering over to the West side of Future World, outside of The Land pavilion, there is a new art installation of two penguins, completely made out of recycled trash found and collected from the ocean.
Flower & Garden Topiaries, Earth Day Preparations

The 9-foot statue is in celebration of Earth Day, coming up on April 22nd, and for the upcoming release of the Disneynature film, Penguins.
We took another walk through the Butterfly House, hoping to spot more butterflies this time than on our previous visit (where there was a grand total of 1). But again, there was only one butterfly to be found.
Here’s hoping more butterflies continue emerging from their cocoons before the end of the festival, because so far the Butterfly House has been pretty disappointing this year.
Outside, we spotted some Cast Members replacing some of the flowers in the floral quilt to keep it looking fresh.
Over in the China Pavilion, a serious line had formed for the specialty cotton candy offering. The cotton candy booth hadn’t even opened yet, but it’s such an aesthetically pleasing treat, it’s not a surprise to see this queue already formed. Keep this line in mind if the cotton candy is something you have your heart set on getting on your next visit to the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival.
Construction Updates
Over in the Japan Pavilion, it doesn’t look like too much has progressed on the upcoming new signature dining restaurant since our last update. However, the brick walls do have more structure to them, as well as additional borders and elements.
The Disney Skyliner station by International Gateway is still waiting for some covering on the smaller awning.
Over in Future World, it looked like there was active work being done on the scaffolding of the upcoming Space-themed restaurant.
No photo report would be complete without a duck, bunny rabbit, or other cute Disney critter, would it? Here’s to hoping this mild weather sticks around a little longer before the long days of the summer heat!
Keep checking back with WDWNT for more updates on Epcot and beyond!
