Let’s see what’s new in the Magic Kingdom today. Care to join me?
Construction
They’ve still got a couple months of construction to go on the Tomorrowland Speedway project, but it’s starting to take shape.
You can see wooden dowels in the ground outlining where the track is going. The dirt has been flattened along the majority of the route, as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if they start laying concrete in the near future.
They’re doing work on the queue, as well. What exactly, I’m not sure, but I think it has to do with the switchback barriers. I heard them cutting steel a few weeks ago.
You can see some of the poles aren’t connected to anything at the moment. Interestingly, they also still have the map up of the old layout. Hopefully they remember to replace that before it reopens.
A new set of stairs is going in near the bridge. The stairs are used for Cast Members to access different parts of the track quickly if they need to.
Over in Fantasyland, the refurbishment of the Casey Jr. Splash ‘n’ Soak Station is coming along. I saw workers hand painting pieces of it this morning.
Merchandise Round-Up
Several new limited-edition pins have been released.

We found a whole lot of new Dumbo goodies over at Big Top Souvenirs. You can see our whole post about them here.
The Winnie the Pooh plush from “Christopher Robin” can be hard to come by. It seems like as soon as I see them back in stock, they run out again. You sort of just have to be there on the right day, I suppose.
I’m not surprised they’re so popular. They’re really cute.

I found this new double-sided keychain today, as well. It says “The Most Magical Place on Earth” and shows Cinderella Castle at night and during the day. It’s pretty classy, I think.

They also have a deal going on keychains right now. They’re normally $9.99 each, but you save a few dollars if you buy three at once.

Last, but definitely not least, is this fantastic Orange Bird shirt for adults. Nothing says Florida like the little Orange Bird who thinks orange thoughts.
That’s all for today! Check back next time for more fun from Magic Kingdom.
