REVIEW: Uncork California – Food & Wine Festival 2019 at Disney California Adventure Park

It’s that magical time of year once again when the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival returns. Uncork California is back again with a new selection of wines.

Uncork California

California Artisan Cheese Selection – $8.50

Guests can select either Point Reyes Blue or Fiscalini White Cheddar handcrafted California cheese. We opted for the cheddar and it was…interesting, to say the least. The cheese was a little boring and flavorless, to be honest. This was a bummer, as we really enjoy cheese. The candied fruit was nice though, as well as the grapes and crackers. We think this cheese plate would have been better if they added multiple kinds of cheese to each plate, instead of one.

White Wine Flight – $17.50

Twomey Cellars, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa-Sonoma County – $15.00

Simi, Chardonnay, “Reserve,” Russian River Valley, California – $12.00

Patz & Hall, Chardonnay, “Dutton Ranch,” Russian River Valley, California – $19.00

Out of the three wine flights, this was our least favorite. The Simi, Chardonnay, “Reserve” wine was probably the best out of the three, but we still wouldn’t drink a full glass of this. The other Chardonnay and the Sauv Blanc were sour and too fruity for our liking.

Red Wine Flight – $17.50

Erath, Pinot Noir, Oregon – $14.00

Klinker Brick Winery, Old Vine Zinfindel, Lodi – $12.00

Rowen, Red Blend, Sonoma County, California – $19.00

This red wine flight was much better than the white. The blend was probably our least favorite, but it’s not horrible. The Pinot Noir had a very earthy after taste, which we didn’t love. But the Zinfindel was the best of the three. It was smooth and sweet, and the only wine we would enjoy a full glass of.

Mimosa Flight – $17.00

Hibiscus Mimosa, with Hibiscus Flower Garnish – $14.00

Tropical Mimosa – $14.00

Mixed Berry Mimosa – $14.00

Of the three flights, this was the clear winner. You can’t really mess up a mimosa (unless you add too much juice), but we found these to be excellent choices. The hibiscus was our favorite and we loved the flower in the glass. But really, all of the mimosas were tasty down to the last drop. You might want to opt for the flight first, then go back for seconds as these were very easy to sip on again and again.

Chandon Brut, Sparkling Wine, California – $12.00

And if you want even more bubbly to enjoy, this glass of champagne is a really nice option on the menu. It has apple, pear, and citrus flavors. This would be a good champagne for starting your morning off at Disney California Adventure.
