BREAKING: Epcot’s New Future World Space Restaurant Will Open Later in 2019

Dining team, this is Mission Control. You are clear for 2019 entry into the new space-themed restaurant coming to Epcot at Walt Disney World.

That’s right, the new table-service experience will open later this year adjacent to the Mission: SPACE attraction! No dining experience on Earth can match what’s in store, because this new restaurant will take you into outer space for incredible dining experiences that are “out of this world.”

Patina Restaurant Group will operate the new restaurant, and they’ve developed a menu that features internationally-inspired cuisine, more than 1,000 bottles of the world’s finest wines, and a wide selection of craft beer to be housed in their very own “Space Cellar”.

Recent job postings were put up by Patina Restaurant Group looking to hire European candidates for the Cultural Representative Program revealed either the restaurant’s name or codename, Space 220.

The gist is that much like the International Space Station (ISS), the restaurant will also be manned by an international crew. The new space-themed restaurant will make guests feel as if they are actually traveling through space via the use of a 250-foot-long digital screen wrapping around the curved room. This technology is similar to the screens used at the One World Trade Center and the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

  1. You’ll probably want to avoid the “orange team” Mission Space experience shortly after visiting this restaurant. (Otherwise, *always* go orange!) :)

  2. Woot! I am so excited for this project. Fingers and toes crossed that it’s open by late October!

  3. at it again! disney highlight drinking! i dont drink and have nothing against social drinking! i do smoke and have nothing aganst social smoking,so please disney reinstate designated smoking areas in the parks way off to the side so not to get the anti smoking holly rollers hemorrhoids in an uproar!

    • Settle down. Born and raised on an NC Tobacco Farm. The very reason I can afford to come to Disney is due to generations of tobacco production- but even I can admit that no one’s alcohol consumption has impacted my ability to breathe or given anyone cancer. And don’t start with auto-related deaths….no one is driving in the parks.

      • bro! if im off to some remote corner of a park in a smoking area grabing a smoke i hope this does not upset you, smoking is an addiction cant be turned on or off that easiely. disney could make it that you wouldnt know they were there.

  4. Wonder when they’ll start taking reservations, and if it will be running in time for Jersey Week….

  5. Always glad to try a new Disney eatery ANYWHERE, in ANY park or resort. Looking forward to it!

  6. This project looks cool, but it’s weird to attach a restaurant to a ride that no one likes, let alone one that makes guests a) barf and b) die.
