It’s the final days of the 2019 International Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot. Let’s take a stroll through the flowers before they disappear for another year!
Flower and Garden
The Flower and Garden festival really is one of the most beautiful times to visit Epcot. The flower quilt between Future World and World Showcase is always a lovely sight to see.
The festival ends on June 3rd, and the flowers will disappear pretty quickly after that. Get your pictures while you can!
What’s great about Florida, though, is that many of the trees around property all flower at slightly different times of year. These specific trees waited until the very end of the festival to show off their colors!
It’s also your last chance for any of the Flower and Garden merchandise from this year. Much of it is still on sale for 25% off in the park, as well! It changes every year, so if you see something you like, get it! (A lot of this will end up at the outlet stores in the coming weeks, but it’s usually a madhouse over there, so I tend to stay away.)
Characters
The end of the Flower and Garden Festival also marks the beginning of Summer! And with Summer comes a whole new “crop” of characters. It’s training season! You might see some characters around Epcot that you don’t normally see. Princesses tend to appear randomly at International Gateway (in between France and the U.K.)
You can also find what they call a “Character Palooza”, either to the left of The American Adventure, or to the right of the United Kingdom pavilion. Here’s a great chance to meet characters with little to no wait. They disappear as quickly as they appear though, so you have to be quick!
We got to meet Max Goof today. He doesn’t come out for meet and greets very often, so it was quite exciting.
Et Cetera
It’s chocolate sampling day in Mexico!
These nice ladies from the Vanuato KaKaw chocolate brand set up a table once a month in the Mexico pavilion. I missed it last month, so I was glad I stumbled upon it today.
They sell their chocolate bars all year round in the shops here, but today’s the one day a month where you get to taste test it.
I got a chocolate-coffee blend. It was good! A little gritty for my taste, but that’s authenticity for you.
Construction Round-Up
Over at the future site of Guardians of the Galaxy, they were doing a little bit of prep on the entrance building.
They actively ripping out more of the old solar panel mounts from the roof.
You can see the old mounts on the right, and where they’ve been removed on the left. Hopefully new solar panels are going to eventually be installed, because that was one of the coolest parts of the original Universe of Energy pavilion.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the France pavilion is coming along as well. Lots of work happening on the facade.
The mystery construction site behind the Refreshment Port restrooms is still coming along.
There’s lots of dirt being moved. New restrooms? Fingers crossed.
Outside the park, demolition has slowed down on the old tram loop, but they’re prepping for a lot of construction.
They’ve dug up almost the entire area.
Looks like some electrical cables are being laid.
They have huge concrete pipes ready to go as well. Looks like a big project.
That’s all from me for today. Enjoy the last few days of Flower and Garden––we don’t get another festival until the end of August. I’ll keep you updated on anything that happens between now and then!
Thank you for posting something other than Star Wars. We need to know what else is going on inside the parks with all the other construction and activities.
Max Goof?? 😱🤩
