BREAKING: Guardians of the Galaxy at Epcot Will Be Disney’s First Backwards Launch Roller Coaster

The Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster is coming to Future World at Epcot in 2021, and when guests launch into space on this adventure with Rocket, Groot, and the gang, they’ll be traveling facing backwards.

With revolutionary spinning roller coaster cars, guests will launch backwards out of the old Universe of Energy building, through a tunnel, and up into the new gravity building that will house a majority of the roller coaster ride.

The vehicles will begin to spin at the top of the launch entering the second building, so don’t worry, you won’t be riding backwards for a majority of the attraction.

Disney has yet to announce this detail, but is expected to before or at the 2019 D23 Expo in just a few weeks time.

  1. Great. Something else I can’t ride. If I can’t handle expedition Everest without wanting to vomit I doubt this will work out for me.

  2. Disney used to be a magical place for me. Now just thrill ride after thrill ride that I can’t enjoy because of health reasons. But I get it; it’s what people want. Time for a new generation to enjoy what I can’t anymore.

  3. Any news on whether or not it will go inverted at any point? That’s the one thing that matters for whether my mother will ride with me or not :)
