Redd may have a very heated history in Disney lore, but that doesn’t stop Disney from coming up with more and more Redd pirate merchandise. And for once, I can say that I actually wouldn’t mind becoming a pirate captain…
Especially not with this on.
This famed new dress is a red, black, and white number with a zippered back, off-the-shoulder lace and ruffles, and a striped underskirt. One of my favorite details is the built-in, smocked faux corset.
The embroidered flowers are stunning, and even the pleather ties for cinching at the waist look good in this.
The bottom of the striped underskirt features roses, a skull and crossbones, and a cameo of Redd herself. (This part of the design is the only dealbreaker for me as it borders on tacky.)
But the rest of the dress is gorgeous. The cotton fabric they used on this means it drapes perfectly, and it isn’t scratchy or polyester-heavy, allowing for a more… weathered look.
A few mannequins at Uptown Jewelers showed the dress as it’s meant to be worn (with a fluffy petticoat underneath.)
They also paired the dress with this new pirate’s treasure chest crossbody.
The faux leather crossbody is shaped just like a real treasure chest, with gold accents and hardware.
The interior of the crossbody is lined with red and black patterned skull-and-crossbones fabric.
The dress retails for $128.00 (sizes range from XS to 3XL) and the treasure chest crossbody retails for $85.00. We found them at Uptown Jewelers in the Magic Kingdom, but they’re also available at The Dress Shop in Disney Springs. And if you’ll excuse me, I have to go plunder Uptown Jewelers now.
