During our last update to the Hollywood Studios enhanced security checkpoint, we found signs beginning to be installed, and trees and plants starting to be put into position. Since then, the checkpoint itself has started to wrap up construction as we move closer to the new area being ready to open. Let’s take a look!

Coming in from the parking lot, you can clearly see a long row of palm trees set into place leading up toward the checkpoint.

There are also new light posts around the area that’ll keep the checkpoint lit at night. (It’s lit, fam.)

A new directional sign is also in place close to the main structure. This points guests towards various transportation methods around the resort, such as the bus loop, Disney Skyliner, or FriendShip boats.

Here’s a look at the current construction around the area. Pathways are now installed, along with trees and lights. There’s a massive open area leading up to the checkpoint which will help a a lot with crowds and lines for security.

The main structure is nearing completion, this bend is the only section of the structure yet to be painted the turquoise color they seem to be going with.

As you can see, most of the structure closest to the park seems to be painted and complete.

Be sure to check back with WDWNT.com as we near completion of this checkpoint. The checkpoint will help largely with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge crowds and just crowd levels in general over the coming months at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
