June 24 has come and gone, so Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been open to the public without reservations for a few days now. And it will be regarded as one of the smoothest and most well-organized land openings in a very long time. Here’s an update on how Disneyland Park is looking post-Galaxy’s Edge opening, including crowds, new merchandise, and more.

Disneyland Park

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Just as it was for the first few weeks this month, there are hardly any lines at the Main Gate. Guests can essentially walk right up and through the turnstiles without having to wait.

Main Street, U.S.A.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Even City Hall is free of guest lines, a sight that is rarely seen at Disneyland Park. However, Main Street does feel a bit crowded with people walking around, but it’s not unbearable.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019v

In case you blinked and missed it, Main Street Cinema was turned into a merchandise store last week. After an incredible amount of backlash, it has been restored with no trace of merchandise in sight.

We spotted a new Mickey Bubble Baton on sale at Emporium for $27.84. This massive bubble baton made its debut at Walt Disney World, as well.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

And with Galaxy’s Edge now open to the masses, it’s been added to the Digital Tip Board by Plaza Inn.

Here guests can find easy access to land status and the wait time for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

Tomorrowland

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Over in Tomorrowland, Hyperspace Mountain is still going strong. This overlay has taken over the space-themed attraction for almost two months now.

Next door, we noticed more details have been added to the new Alien Pizza Planet sign. Planets have been added to the exterior along the right side of the sign.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Now that the reservation period has ended, Star Wars Launch Bay has returned to its former state of being a merchandise store and exhibition.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

And speaking of merchandise, there are five new phone case designs to choose from. We love the rainbow R2-D2 design.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

There are also plenty of DJ R3X Funko Pop! figures available for purchase. You can take this guy home with you for $24.99. Don’t forget, you can find him on shopDisney now too.

The rest of Tomorrowland is fairly empty, which makes strolling over to Fantasyland a breeze.

Fantasyland

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Meanwhile, at Fantasy Faire, this area felt much more crowded. We spotted lots of large families in this area.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

It’s almost too easy to take for granted that Peter Pan’s Flight has seen significantly better wait times in the last three weeks. Today is no exception, with the wait time being about 20 minutes.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Snow White’s Scary Adventure was practically a walk-on.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

And King Arthur Carousel didn’t have a long wait, either.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

The Oversized Minnie Mouse Bow Headband has finally made its way to Disneyland after being spotted at Walt Disney World. This can be purchased at The Mad Hatter in Fantasyland for $27.99.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Another attraction guests can walk right onto! it’s a small world had neither a standby line nor a FastPass line.

Mickey’s Toontown

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

We have sad news to report from Mickey’s Toontown. The Jolly Trolley, which hasn’t been functional since 2003, has been removed. The only remains are rust and wear on the bricks and tracks where the Trolley once stood.

Frontierland

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

We spotted two new pins in Westward Trading Co. in Frontierland. “Wild Side” Figaro pin is available for $9.99. And this new Mickey Mouse Space Mountain Intergalactic Exploration pin is also available for the same price.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

With land status being open all day, we decided to finally pay a visit to Batuu. The path from Frontierland to Galaxy’s Edge is much busier than it has been since May 31, but it’s still bearable.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

New signs have been installed outside the land entrances and throughout Disneyland Park with the status of the land admittance. Today, the land remained open and no boarding groups were needed.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

The walkway into Batuu from Frontierland wasn’t as packed as we would have expected, although there was a bit of a late afternoon rush. Overall, it’s not too bad.

Don’t forget that in order to build a lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop, you’ll need to make a same-day reservation online.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

The Market is busy but tolerable. Unfortunately, there is quite a bit of merchandise out of stock at the moment, such as Han’s dice, Sabacc cards, the Batuuan Spira metal coin Disney Gift Card, and more.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Unlike the reservation period, guests do not have to wait to visit Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiques. This store is another spot being hit with out-of-stock merchandise, especially the kyber crystals.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run has kept a steady wait time, but we haven’t seen it go above 65 minutes since the morning of June 24. At some points during the day, the wait is even as low as 20 minutes.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

There are definitely a lot of people walking through the land throughout the day, but overall the wait times for quick-service food, drinks, and shopping has been very low. The exception would be Oga’s Cantina, which only accepts guests with reservation to visit the Cantina. Like Savi’s, reservations can be made same day online.

Adventureland

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Outside of Batuu, back in regular Disneyland Park, the crowds are once again pretty low. The stroller parking in Adventureland is the emptiest we’ve seen it during the afternoon. And Jungle Cruise had a consistent wait of 5 minutes.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Indiana Jones Adventure was busy per usual, but the crowd outside the attraction wasn’t nearly as bad as it can be during peak days.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

New Orleans Square

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Over in New Orleans Square, Pirates of the Caribbean was a walk-on, with only one line being utilized.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

And the crowd around the attraction was light, too, making a for an enjoyable stroll along the Rivers of America.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

And Haunted Mansion didn’t have much of a wait time either.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Critter Country

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Critter Country is a tad busier than normal, now that it contains one of the entrances to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Over at the Briar Patch, we spotted another new bubble wand for sale. The Ariel Clamshell Bubble Wand is adorable, with cute details on the handle. This can come home with you for $25.00.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

And despite the foot traffic, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh only had a 5 minute wait time. Which seemed inaccurate, given that guests could just walk right onto a beehive vehicle.

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Disneyland Park Photo Report June 26 2019

Overall, we’ve been pleasantly surprised to see such light summer crowds at Disneyland Park, especially with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge open to the public. It remains to be seen of the entire summer will look like this, but we kind of hope so.

Thanks for reading our updates from today’s trip to Disneyland Park. Don’t forget to check us out on Twitter and Instagram for more updates from the Park.

If only we could have been there today! It looked amazing…jungle cruise/pirates walk-on and Peter Pan 20 min?!! Unheard of! Let this be a lesson to the Disney execs: Open a 5th gate at WDW and the park experiences will be much more enjoyable as the crowds are better distributed.

Right now Disney may be wishing they hadn’t added this addition let alone a whole other park lol. I’d love a 5th gate but unless GE gets super busy and brings in lots of money additions may be scaled back not ramped up. So far GE looks like a swing and a miss.

Do we think this is likely due to Local AP blackouts?

How could it be? They blackout APs during the summer normally and it’s always packed during the summer.

Great report, lovely pictures! Could you make this report on July 4th again? Being that it’s a holiday, I’m wondering if the crowd level will be back to normal by then. It would be very, VERY strange for Disneyland’s attendance (the rest of the park) to get drastically reduced for the entire rest of the summer due to the opening of GE!

” it will be regarded as one of the smoothest and most well-organized land openings in a very long time.” The Galaxy’s Edge opening will go down in theme park history all right.

Until Rise of Resistance is opened, there’s no point of going now. The land itself isn’t Star Wars. It’s a promise without any expectation Batuu will show up. We will soon find out if Batuu will show up in Episode 9 this Fall.

My kid & I visited Batuu last night after looking at the Disneyland app & seeing that boarding passes weren’t needed. In a 3-hour visit, we did so much: roamed the entire land, rode Smugglers Run, got both blue & green milk, ate at Docking Bay 7, visited all the shops, played the Disney Play app, and watched the fireworks (IMHO Batuu views are better than Main Street). Sometime after the fireworks ended, we walked up to Savi’s without a reservation and inquired if there was possibly any slots available to build a lightsaber. The cast member told me “Yes.… Read more »

I wish Hyperspace Mountain would stick around longer, but when I’m there in October I know it’ll be the Ghost Galaxy overlay. All this time I still haven’t been there for Hyperspace Mtn. I’ve seen it on YouTube but would love to ride it in person, darn it.
