March of the First Order Concludes July 6th at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Preparation for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

If you’re a fan of the popular March of the First Order with Captain Phasma that takes place multiple times a day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it’s imperative that you know of some upcoming changes ahead of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening at the park.

Per Disney’s March of the First Order entertainment page, the Stormtroopers will have their final performance on July 6th, 2019, with the troops heading to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for the land’s upcoming opening.

The final March of the First Order is set to take place at 5:00 PM this Saturday.

If you won’t be able to make it out to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for their final imperial march, take solace in this video of the full march back when it debuted in April 2016:

And if you’re curious as to how the First Order’s presence will manifest once inside Black Spire Outpost at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, check out this video of Kylo Ren and the First Order from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland:

Here’s Disney’s storyline behind the roaming characters in the land:

Recently-arrived First Order Stormtroopers bring a new presence throughout Black Spire Outpost, patrolling the area and engaging villagers and travelers alike. Wherever someone goes in Black Spire Outpost, the First Order is always watching! From time to time, Kylo Ren himself may even arrive in Black Spire Outpost, impressing upon its inhabitants the power and strength of the First Order. He consults with the First Order Officer assigned to this trading port and sets out with a contingent of Stormtroopers to interrogate the locals, seeking any Resistance sympathizers.

Remember, you won’t find Darth Vader roaming around these parts. The land is entirely dedicated to the latest installment in the Star Wars trilogy, with mere nods or Easter eggs to the original movies.

If all pans out like it does in the Disneyland version, character interactions in the land should happen organically (whenever possible), just as everything else in the land. Walkaround characters (like Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren, as seen in the video above) will transition in and out of show montages.

Will you miss the March of the First Order, or are you okay with Star Wars being consolidated into one land? Sound off in the comments!

    • Agreed. It seemed like someone just pushed random buttons on a Phasma sound board, and you can tell they’re almost totally blind in those things by the way they move around. They didn’t try hard enough and totally shoehorned it in.

    • I will. One of my best Disney memories was a completely spontaneous viewing of the March. It had been years since I’d been to HS and I saw them taping off lines waited and was stunned to seen them marching. Felt like a kid when they see some of their favorite characters.

    • I totally agree, It was comical how everyone would stop for a 30 second parade. I admit I’m not a Star Wars fan and will stay as far away from Galaxy’s Edge as possible.

  1. I loved seeing the March wish they could incorporate it in the news set -it is much more dramatic
