We’re now over a month into summer and it’s really heating up in Southern California. One of the best ways to enjoy the Disneyland Resort during these hot days is to get an early start before it heats up too much. We decided to spend the morning rope dropping Disney California Adventure, so we could hit up the rides and scope out new merchandise before the crowds and heat set in. Here’s how it went.
Disney California Adventure
Buena Vista Street
With how hot it’s been this week, Cast Members have put out a display of sunscreen and cooling towels outside of Los Feliz Five & Dime. And of course, they’re also advertising the new “The Little Mermaid” 30th Anniversary collection.
Inside the store, we spotted a new Disney Parks Diamond Castle Collection Limited Edition Ariel Doll, on sale for $129.99.
If you’re looking for a new pair of earrings, you might like these new Briar Rose Gold Minnie Mouse Earrings. For $14.99, you can add these earrings to your summer Disney look.
Hollywood Land
The Award Wieners seating area is still under refurbishment. It doesn’t appear that much has changed, but we can hear Cast Members at work behind the scrim.
In the meantime, tables are still set up at the Mickey’s PhilharMagic entrance.
In case you missed it, construction of Marvel Superhero Land has taken over a huge portion in front of Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!
FastPass Distribution is still near the queue for the Hyperion Theater, to the left when you’re walking towards the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction.
And the queue is still being rerouted around all the construction walls.
With all of the signs and Cast Members around for assistance, guests shouldn’t have any trouble navigating around this massive refurbishment.
Marvel Superhero Land
Speaking of Marvel Superhero Land, a lot of visible work is being done near the entrance to Cars Land.
Guests can see construction crew members working on the upcoming Spider-Man attraction.
Cars Land
On our walk through Cars Land, we spotted Red making his way down Route 66.
Both Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree and Radiator Springs Racers had shorter wait times than normal, a benefit to visiting in the morning. Guests could pretty much walk onto Mater’s attraction.
And the path by Radiator Springs Racers was nice and quiet today, too.
Pixar Pier
Forky fans will be happy to know that the Forky statue is still out on Pixar Pier. And PhotoPass is now stationed out in front of this new trash––we mean toy!
Knick’s Knacks had some cute artwork on display that we couldn’t get enough of. To be honest, this drawing of Carl and Ellie made us a little emotional.
But then this drawing of Buzz Lightyear as Mrs. Nesbit helped lift our spirits again.
As we made our way further down the Pier, we spotted a boat speeding through the water.
Bo Peep is still greeting guests in front of Toy Story Midway Mania.
The Luxo Ball on Pixar Pier has been a great way for guests to cool off and have fun during these hot summer days.
In Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff, we found a new “Coco” shirt that’s perfect for those who are un poco loco. This shirt is available for $24.99.
And next door, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind remains a hit with guests.
Grizzly Peak
On a hot summer morning like this at Disney California Adventure, many guests are taking advantage of Grizzly River Run as a way to cool down.
And thankfully, the long line of guests waiting to ride Soarin’ Over California have misters to keep them cool, too.
Thanks for following us along on our morning trip to Disney California Adventure! Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Instagram for more updates from the Disneyland Resort.
