Happy Independence Day weekend from Epcot! I know a few days ago was the 4th of July, but let freedom keep ringing!

fountain of nations

With the recent news that the Fountain of Nations will be permanently closing on September 8th, I’m going to enjoy every view of this courtyard for the rest of the summer. I’m excited to see what Project Gamma brings to this area though!

guardians of the galaxy coaster

Checking in on the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster construction, and not a lot looks to have changed lately.

There’s still painting progress to be done on the side of the building, and the courtyard in the front is still looks to be a debris dumping ground. But with this coaster not scheduled to open until 2021, they’ve still got time.

fountain view

Inside Fountain View, I spotted this cute patriotic themed cupcake. I’m loving the fireworks on the ears, even if most of their little buttons were sliding down.

sunshine seasons

In Sunshine Seasons, the menu staple of the Strawberry Shortcake got a little festive makeover for the 4th of July Holiday, with the blueberry topping and the printed white chocolate patriotic disk.

Canada Pavilion

Moving on into the World Showcase, some more scrims have popped up onto the facade in the Canada pavilion. The bridge pathway to the Circle Vision theater remains open, but the waterfall remains off.

ratatouille construction

Over at the France pavilion, I checked out the construction progress on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. In our last update we showed you the missing shutters and the progress on the painting of the brickwork along the facade.

american adventure

In the American Adventure Pavilion, it was a full scale celebration for America’s Independence Day! Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, and Dale were all out meeting Guests in their patriotic best, for one day only on July 4th.

If these specialty meet and greets are ever something you are planning on doing, make sure you really do plan ahead of time. Mickey, Pluto, and Goofy’s queue exceeded 2 hours, and Chip and Dale were a solid 1 hour. But I get it, they’re hard to resist in those cute outfits that you don’t see every day.

That’s all for my walk around Epcot today! Keep checking WDWNT for all of the latest updates (Takumi-tei, we see you, and we’re coming for you!) See ya real soon!
