Welcome to another WDWNT walk around the Most Magical Place on Earth, the Magic Kingdom! Let’s get this photo report started and see what’s new!
In the Emporium, a couple new Mickey and Walt Disney World branded shirts popped up. The tie-dye raglan tee above is priced at $39.99, and the sweatshirt below is $59.99. I actually really like the sweatshirt. The detailing on the sleeve of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy is such a cute touch.
There are also a couple new packs of elastic hair ties, priced at $9.99 each. I love the subtle Mickey designs on these, but fingers crossed these don’t end up in any of the Animal Kingdom gift shops, because so help me if I see any of these at the top of Everest.
The Tomorrowland bridge is still sign-less, and they need to hurry up and work on getting the new sign installed, because I am running out of angles to photograph this area from.
Checking in on the TRON Construction, and it looks like there are more of the structural support beams around the tallest part of the track. The further along these get, the closer we are to this portion of the track ending up enclosed inside the show building. So I’m excited to see the progress because I know that’s closer to the attraction opening, but I’m savoring these views while I’ve got them.
In Liberty Square, some of the awnings in the Haunted Mansion queue have made their return, but a solid portion are still missing. Fortunately it was largely overcast today, so the shadeless queue wasn’t as much of an issue today, but still, the sooner we get all of these awnings back, the better.
The seating area around Liberty Square Market is still closed off behind scrims getting some work done. The first day we saw this, the light grey scrims were very easy to see through, but it looks like they’ve since doubled up and layered more scrims so it’s harder to get a look through and see what they’re doing to this area.
The pathway by Cinderella Castle has gotten a decent amount of the pavement laid on it now! This is very exciting, I am so anxious to get this shortcut back, and I can’t wait to take some pictures again on the wrought iron benches that are hopefully making a comeback.
In Frontierland, Shaker from the Country Bear Jamboree was living his best life waving to Guests on Splash Mountain.
Out front of the Magic Kingdom, the entrance enhancements are moving along. All of the debris from the old bag check location we showed you in our last update is still there, though. But the expanded pathway by the bus loop looks to be nearing completion.
That’s all for my day around Magic Kingdom! Stay tuned to WDWNT for more updates!
Is the steam train that goes around the Park working?
Thank you!
It is currently stationary while Tron work is going on.
Not operating during Tron construction, but they have one of the trains parked in the Main Street Station for photo-ops.
