REVIEW: Apple Pie Fourth of July Cupcake Arrives at Restaurantosaurus in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The Fourth of July is right around the corner, and you know Disney, they’re always ready to celebrate and they love a good theme, and this holiday is going to be no exception. So while they’re going to be putting on arguably the best fireworks show of the year, the Disney Parks are also going to be trotting out specialty treats, and we found one today at Restaurantosaurus at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

This cupcake is a yellow cake, topped with blue buttercream frosting and white chocolate shaped fireworks decorated with red sugar crystals, and filled with an apple pie filling.

The fireworks on the cupcake we got look more like Forky’s hands than they did the fireworks in the photo, to be honest.

Okay, so as far as taste goes, this stays pretty in line with the general review of a Disney cupcake. The cake was dry, the frosting was chilled and excessive, and there’s never enough filling in these things. What little there was of the apple pie filling was yummy, I would have loved more apple flavor coming through in this whole cupcake to make it feel more like a specialty treat. Personally, I’m going to be holding out hope for some other special 4th of July desserts to come to Disney property, because this is not one that I would get again. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good.
