Bongos Cuban Cafe at Disney Springs to Close Permanently on August 18th

We finally have a date for the permanent closure of Bongo’s Cuban Cafe at Disney Springs. On August 18, 2019, the Gloria and Emilio Estefan-owned restaurant located in Disney Springs’ West Side will close forever.

Bongos Cuban Café™ Express

Bongos Cuban Cafe opened in 1997 in what was Downtown Disney and has been left mostly unchanged in its 22-year history. Featuring fiery Latin rhythms and authentic Cuban cuisine, Bongos’ popularity dwindled over the years as newer restaurants have opened at Disney Springs.

Disney has already announced the replacement for Bongos in Beatrix, a neighborhood restaurant, coffeehouse and grab-and-go market. Gloria and Emilio Estefan are opening Estefan Kitchen at Margaritaville Resort Orlando, the spiritual successor to Bongo’s.

  1. This is so frustrating. I’m going to Disney world for the first time in September and I feel like all the good stuff is closing down before we get there.

    • I hear you, I’m “old school” Disney and it seems that it’s being geared for Millennials now!

  2. I still feel that this restaurant was so unique and I always thought the food was wonderful and I will miss it so much!
