New Changes to Designated Smoking Areas Effective Today at Disney Springs

As you may know, resort-wide policy changes on smoking took place across Walt Disney World during May.

As a reminder, smoking areas are no longer present inside Walt Disney World or Disneyland theme parks, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex or Downtown Disney in California.

Designated smoking areas are still available outside the entrances of the areas mentioned above and at Disney Springs, however Disney Springs has since updated their policy on designated smoking areas, removing the smoking area that was previously located between UNIQLO and T-Rex Restaurant.

Here are the remaining designated smoking areas at Disney Springs:

  • Near the Town Center bus stops
  • Near Morimoto Asia
  • Between Bongos and Jaleo
  • Behind Cirque du Soleil
  • Next to Disney’s Wonderful World of Memories
  • Next to Goofy’s Candy Co.

As you’ve seen, designated smoking areas are always subject to change or removal, as with at the parks.

For guests who have room or dining reservations, smoking areas are also available at Disney Resort hotels.

  1. Disney©® cutting back on cigarette smoking areas at the same time they expand alcohol sales. Priorities priorities

    • Right because that’s such an apples to oranges comparison. You’re on property with provided transportation. You drinking an alcoholic beverage doesn’t impact me. You smoking and having that in the air around the general vicinity of a smoking area does impact me. Also, it’s one smoking area being removed. Disney Springs still has a 6 where you can smoke your little death stick. Trying to cut back smoking which can help the public health is a very good priority since it impacts everyone. Personally, I’ve had more of an impact from rude guests than I ever have with a drunk guest which doesn’t happen that often as you seem to be implying.

      • I myself quit yrs ago being outside does not bother me at all there are a few that like to smoke after a meal and all the alcohol does not help either with a smoker if it annoys you so much don’t walk near the smoking area.sorry they have rights too just because you don’t like it

  2. Thank you for the information. As a two year pass holder, I will not be renewing. The smoking areas were always way out of the way, which I understood. Now that they are gone Universal, here we come.

  3. Glad to see Disney is so worried about their customers health. It’s just funny that the target is always the smokers. I think they should pay more attention to the rampant morbid obesity present in their parks. To me that is way more of a health hazard than smoking. Smoking a cigarette bad, eating a pile of fried food, hot dogs, ice cream and cupcakes…perfectly acceptable. They move all the smoking sections out of the park and everyone is happy, I would love to see the reaction if they moved all the disgusting fried food locations to the exits it would be complete chaos. I think it would be productive, people could burn a few pounds before eating a pound of mac & cheese and cheeseburger spring rolls.

  4. So apparently you can be an alcoholic or overweight and that’s ok at Disney but god forbid you smoke and you should be exiled..makes no sense hopefully will be overturned… put the smokers in the back and the fat and\or drunk people on the festival line…. that makes so much sense
