We recently brought you the news of the Christmas events over at Tokyo Disneyland. Now, let’s sail over to Tokyo DisneySea, where the festive “Disney Christmas” 2019 event will also be taking place! It’s the most wonderful time of the year, they say, so let’s dive in!
Entertainment
This year, the lovely “It’s Christmas Time” harbor show will be returning to the waters of Mediterranean Harbor! Mickey Mouse and the Disney friends throw a jolly holiday revue, featuring classic carols, tons of singing and dancing, and even an appearance by Santa himself! There’s over 100 performers in this incredible show, and I can’t wait to see what it’s like this year!
Every night after “Fantasmic!”, a grand 50-foot tall Christmas tree will be lit on the waters of Mediterranean Harbor in the annual tradition “Colors of Christmas”! Mickey Mouse, Duffy, and the Disney friends will come together to light a grand Christmas tree and bring joy and happiness to all of the Guests in the park! This year marks the eighth and unfortunately final year of this spectacular show! Hopefully we will continue to see a tree lighting on the waters of Mediterranean Harbor next year!
Every night (weather permitting), the skies above both Tokyo DisneySea and Tokyo Disneyland will light up in beautiful Christmas colors with the holiday fireworks show “Starbright Christmas”!
Every 10-15 minutes after “Colors of Christmas” and “Starbright Christmas”, a short show featuring snowfall along the harbor will be held! “Colors of Christmas: Afterglow” will keep the festive spirit going for the rest of the evening.
In addition to these offerings, “Hello, New York!” will be receiving a special Christmas version this year!
Decorations
Like at Tokyo Disneyland, a large 50-foot Christmas tree will be in place! Here at Tokyo DisneySea, however, the tree will be in place of the giant propellor monument in front of the S.S. Columbia.
Passaggio MiraCosta will be lined with beautiful Christmas banners and decorations for guests to admire as they enter and exit Tokyo DisneySea.
Every port in the park will also be decked out with sparkling Christmas decor to match the season! I already love these There Caballero trees in Lost River Delta!
Merchandise
Can we really have a new event at Tokyo Disney Resort without tons of incredible and adorable merchandise? There’s set to be around 65 types of merchandise themed to “It’s Christmas Time!” New items include pouches with designs of Mickey and Minnie Mouse in show costumes, sets of notepads that resemble musical tickets, plush toys with a Christmas bell attached to them, and more! All merchandise (except Duffy) goes on sale November 2nd!
Additionally, around 70 types of merchandise will be sold at both parks, including SnoSnows themed around Daisy and Donald Duck, Disney ugly sweaters, and that adorable reindeer Pluto hat, among many others!
And of course, Duffy and Friends merchandise featuring the four Duffy friends enjoying a magical Cape Cod winter will be available starting November 8th! Aren’t they just the cutest?
Food
Around 15 special food offerings are slated for this holiday season! Hot apple cider, chocolate churros, delicious roast beef sandwiches, and more! I’m already hungry just looking at what’s to come!
This year will also mark the return of the “Tastes of Christmas” program in the New York area of American Waterfront. Spend some time conversing with friends and family and enjoy delicious light snacks and drinks! Alcohol will be served as well as 10 different types of snacks.
That’s it from Tokyo DisneySea! Now you’re in the know about the happenings at both parks! Are you visiting this holiday season? Are you excited? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter!
