Psst! Is it just me, or is Epcot undergoing just a few changes these days? Between the work on the entrance, Future World West, the Play Pavilion, the Rose Walk, the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, work at Epcot has been busy with a capital B. And now, the next part of the park’s transformation has begun with the widening of the Future World East pathway between Innoventions East and Test Track.
Here’s a map of the work being done. Some of the walls went up on August 12th.
The northeast section of the pathway closed on Tuesday, which connected the path from the back entrance of Mouse Gear to the entrance to Test Track.
Now there are walls wrapping to the back entrance of Mouse Gear.
The Family Play Zone will remain open during the construction, with the entrance to the playground shifted over to the east side near the back entrance to Mouse Gear.
The playground will continue to be accessible along the pathways from Odyssey, Test Track, and Mouse Gear.
More construction fences can be seen closer to the monorail beam.
The Future World East restrooms remain open, though the service animal relief area has been moved to the right side of the restroom entrance.
Thank goodness the restrooms remain open… especially when you have the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival coming up.
Stay tuned as we track the progress of the expansion project and construction in the area.
