The Guest Experience Team at the Magic Kingdom has new digs! Now, like at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, each Guest Experience Team station has received its very own themed podium fitting the specific decor of their associated land.
Frontierland
Replacements for the Guest Experience Team podiums were delivered, one by one, to each of the 5 locations. We caught the last one being delivered to the all-new Frontierland location. This was moved from its previous location between Splash Mountain and Adventureland. They also replaced the round umbrella stands with a more sturdy square variant.
This is the new Frontierland podium, located just in front of Country Bears Jamboree along the Rivers of America. The theme has the feel of the surrounding area with boxes as its base and main body, similarly to the one behind the fence.
You can also find this theme in the Souvenir Penny dispenser, to the left. Let us know in the comments why you think the frontier is identified with wooden boxes. We’re looking for the most crate-ive answers.
Fantasyland
The new Fantasyland podium, located just inside the gate of New Fantasyland, has a very regal look. It’s like a coat of arms with a Knight’s armor for a base. The common theme for the Guest Experience Team podiums is a blue base with the castle front and center.
Adventureland
In Adventureland, the new podium is located just outside of Skipper Canteen.
Tomorrowland
Of the five locations, four also have signage in the form of a large umbrella with the words Guest Experience Team visible. Only Tomorrowland is missing an umbrella (or any kind of signage) as they are under the PeopleMover.
Main Street, U.S.A.
That brings us, finally, to the Guest Experience Team location on Main Street, U.S.A. just outside of Casey’s Corner. This one might be our favorite. It’s so simple and clean, but fits the land beautifully and more importantly: It really stands out. That makes it easier for Guests to spot.
Let us know in the comments what you think. How would you have styled them? What would you do to improve them? Did Disney get it right? As each park is updated and new cool things are added, count on WDWNT.com for the latest information and news.
A podium is a raised platform, like what you see at the Olympics for winners receiving their medals. A lectern, or a tall desk, is what this article is about. :)
