We are still a few months away from the heavily delayed opening of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but work has resumed on the facade of the Chinese Theater in preparation for the new attraction.
Construction walls are once again up on the facade, this time on the two sets of doors that flank the main entrance of the theater.
The metal rods that held the TCM signage for the Great Movie Ride were removed and the holes in the wall filled.
You can still clearly see where the rods were mounted.
It is unclear exactly what work is happening other than the removal of the rods.
Nothing has changed at the center doors.
We are still awaiting the installation of the main marquee here. Below you can see what it will look like when it is installed.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is set to open in 2020 (specifically February 2020 according to internal sources), but given all of the delays up until this point, we wouldn’t be surprised if it slips past any intended timeframe.
