Construction work at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village have obstructed views of the iconic savanna at the resort. The green construction fence hinders views from ground level, even at Sanaa, and makes views from elevated locations less than ideal.
Let’s take a look at the current state of the construction.
From ground level it is hard to see what is going on in the Savannah, thankfully giraffes are tall, so you can still see most of them at least.
From the lobby, you can see just how large the construction area is and how obtrusive the fencing may be to sightlines.
Some workers milling about outside.
Those same workers from a different vantage point. Note how even they can’t help but take in the splendid grandeur of the giraffes.
In Sanaa, you can see how bad the view is. You can barely see anything in the Savanna from the restaurant, which is part of what makes this restaurant so great.
Just some last looks at the construction fence to get a sense of where the work is taking place.
It is unknown what the work is about or how long it will last, but we will be sure to keep you updated on this story and many more.
I hope it doesn’t last long! The major appeal of this hotel is the animals!
Is this going to affect the Starlight Safari? I have one booked in December. I don’t want to pay all that money to see construction walls.
I don’t see any mention of this on the booking website. I’ll be at Kidani next week and if I knew that might be the view there’s a pretty good chance I would’ve went elsewhere.
Cool! Anxious to see what the new construction will provide….growth and refurb is almost always a very good thing
That view truly is terrible! Disney should never perform construction work if it ever obstructs from any type of view, no matter how necessary it is. #LetItCrumble

This makes me sad! We have our first AKL Savanna room coming up!
Which portions of the resort have construction or obstructed views (or is it just the lobby area)? Trying to get an idea for room requests for Savanna view rooms.
