Helllllloooo Humans! The other day, we stopped over at the Polynesian Resort to check out the latest desserts.
We were mainly checking out what the seasonal bacon flavor was , but we were surprised when we discovered a new Mike Wazowski chocolate dome cake. The new dessert can be found right outside the Kona Cafe at Kona Island.
The cast member working at the cafe described the Mike Wazowski dome cake to be a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate chips. The price for this one was $5.99 plus tax.
We would have to say this was a one and done for us. The inside had no sign of chocolate chips or ganache. Instead, it tasted like a dry cupcake. The perimeter of dome was just purple cake frosting, and his horns were white chocolate pieces. Again, nothing special here!
As you can see here from a cross section of the cake, it doesn’t even appear to be chocolate cake. Instead, it is a lighter brown color and has the texture and consistency of a banana bread.
For a grab and go dessert essentially, you could do way worse.
The price is kind of high for what it is, but if you are on the Disney Dining Plan, you can justify this $6 item as snack credit. While you should check this dessert for yourself, it would not be a repeat choice in our book!
