Over the last month or so, the smoking area for EPCOT’s International Gateway has seen three separate locations. Smoking is not allowed within the park boundaries, so Disney World provides an area just outside the entrance of each park for guests to sit and smoke. There are two smoking areas at EPCOT, one at the front entrance, and one at the International Gateway entrance.

October 26, 2019 Smoking Area Location

On October 26, 2019, we noticed the smoking area had been moved to a side trail just to the left of the EPCOT Skyliner station ramp. The new smoking area included two benches and two trash cans outfitted to hold cigarette butts, as well as a sign pointing out the location of the park’s other smoking area.

November 3, 2019 Smoking Area Location

By November 3, 2019, the smoking area moved again. This time, across the way to the right of the Friendship Boat dock queue. The new smoking area included the same two benches, two trash cans, and map sign.

November 13, 2019 Smoking Area Location

On November 13, 2019, we noticed the smoking area was gone yet again, and went in search of its new location. This time, it has been moved to sit between the start of the walkway to the EPCOT resorts and the queue areas for the EPCOT Skyliner station and the Friendship Boats. It is tucked away to the left of the temporary ticketing booth. Again, the same two benches, two trash cans, and map sign were moved to this location.

With space being limited in the area due to construction, it’s likely that they’ve yet to find a satisfactory smoking location, and with this new location being in such close proximity to other guest areas (virtually everyone entering through this area will have to walk past the smoking area), we aren’t sure it’ll last very long here given potential guest complaints.
