Over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, delicious construction is underway on the annual Gingerbread House. Earlier this week, the main structure for the house went up and now it is almost entirely covered in tasty cookie shingles.
Most of the front of the house is covered in its gingerbread pieces with gingerbread artists working hard to attach more.
Santa is off to the side overseeing all the hard work.
Important conversations about the structural integrity of gingerbread must be happening here.
Rolling carts full of holiday characters and more gingerbread pieces are staged and waiting to go into the house.
Gingerbread samples are available for guests to taste while they admire the house.
A menu is available for guests to peruse while they decide what treats they would like to buy. This year, new Gluten-Free and Vegan are available so even more guests can partake in the merriment.
The back of the menu details how many pounds of various ingredients go into making the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House, as well has how long it takes for the chefs to whip up the shingles.
The Grand Floridian’s Pastry Chef Kristine Farmer will host a signing event with a Limited Edition Trading Pin in the lobby on November 16th, 23rd, and 30th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
The Gingerbread House’s Grand Opening will be Wednesday, November 13 at 10:30 am. It will be open every day throughout the Christmas season from 9:30 am to 10:00 pm.
Great its the time of the year when the Grand Floridian smells like a bad Yankee Candle store……..potpourri
