The iconic Disney’s EarPort Shop at Orlando International Airport closed back in July and since then, guests arriving at MCO have been without a proper Disney Store and welcome sign as they make their way to and from Walt Disney World. The store was scheduled to reopen after refurbishment sometime this November, however with new construction walls still up at the location, it’s anyone’s guess as to when it will finally reopen.
Stark white construction walls went up around the store overnight after its official closure. These walls enclosed the popular Snow White, Goofy, and Mickey Mouse with Park Icons photo ops that lined the exterior of the store. A few months later, new Toy Story wraps featuring the Little Green Men were added to the walls, with the promise of a new “Magic of Disney Store – Arriving Soon!”
New construction wall art features various scenes from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
The new wording on these directs guests towards the latest new Magic of Disney store located in the West Hall of the airport. That store reopened back in January. You can take a full tour of it here.
It’s expected that the redesign will follow the same model as the recently refurbished Magic of Disney Store, with a warehouse design and projection screens taking the place of most props.
If you weren’t able to pay a final visit to the shop before its closure, we have a full photo and video walking tour available here.
See ya real soon, EarPort!
Surprisingly the store has more theming right now than the actual Galaxy’s Edge
