There’s nothing quite like Christmas in the south. For a taste of what to expect, we ventured over to Port Orleans Riverside to look at their holiday decor for 2019.
From the moment you walk up to the drop-off area, beautiful garland with white lights greets guests.
Walking towards the main entrance, the white lights in the garland illuminate your way to the lobby.
Once inside, the upper levels of the lobby’s vaulted ceiling are hung with more southern-inspired garland.
The Christmas tree rises well into the upper reaches of the space, featuring white lights and southern design accents.
The ornaments and bows all echo the antebellum architecture of the resort.
In the check-in lobby, beautiful garland hangs above the desks. Magnolia flowers and decorative bows feature prominently.
Poinsettia plants are also dotted throughout the check-in desks while large wreaths hang on the walls behind.
Along the seating areas at the back of the check-in lobby, more garland illuminates the space.
Inside Fulton’s General Store, more garland and decorations are on display.
Christmas and holiday merchandise is featured in the store’s window displays as well.
Over at River Roost, garland accents the light poles throughout the bar.
Inside Boatwright’s Dining Hall, more garland and wreaths are present, with more nautical themed ornaments present in each.
Near the entry to Riverside Mill Food Court, we see another smaller Christmas tree. This one continues the nautical theme with wooden fish and sailing rope featured throughout.
Above, a large wreath hangs underneath the mill mural.
That does it for our visit to Port Orleans Riverside. Will you be visiting this holiday season for a Southern style Christmas?
