REVIEW: Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse is Worth a Trip to Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Pumpkin must have been imported from Earth to Pandora, because it’s featured in the new holiday dessert offering at Satu’li Canteen. The Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse is a seasonal twist on the restaurant’s signature dessert, Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse. So let’s dig in!

The dessert makes a great first impression. The presentation is lovely and as we carried it to the table, other guests were oooohing and aaaahing over it. The dessert’s color palette compliments Satu’li Canteen’s naturalistic flatware, making the whole dish aesthetically pleasing.

Cutting open the mousse reveals its perfect cheesecake consistency. The mousse has a rich pumpkin flavor, heavily incorporating in pumpkin pie spices. It’s not overpowering though. The bright orange coating is just for appearances and has no distinct flavor.

The dish’s garnishes add great textural elements to compliment the creaminess of the mousse. The red curl is made of white chocolate. The green “stem” is made of food colored merengue and has no particular flavor other than sugary sweet. The cookie crumble is chocolate, similar to what you would find in cookies and cream ice cream. The cranberry boba pearls offer a fruity sweetness without any tartness. Each garnish enhances the flavor of the mousse. When all together, they make a delectable combination.

Overall, the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse is a great seasonal addition to Satu’li Canteen’s menu. It’s a great value for the price point of $5.49. It’s worth traveling to Pandora just to try it. We hope that this is a dessert that Disney will keep in their holiday dessert offerings for years to come. Will you be trying the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Mousse?
